Summary:  A fast-paced international escapade, laced with adrenaline, glamour, and romance--perfect for fans of Ally Carter

Avery West's newfound family can shut down Prada when they want to shop in peace, and can just as easily order a bombing when they want to start a war. Part of a powerful and dangerous secret society called the Circle, they believe Avery is the key to an ancient prophecy. Some want to use her as a pawn. Some want her dead.

To unravel the mystery putting her life in danger, Avery must follow a trail of clues from the monuments of Paris to the back alleys of Istanbul with two boys who work for the Circle—beautiful, volatile Stellan and mysterious, magnetic Jack. But as the clues expose a stunning conspiracy that might plunge the world into World War 3, she discovers that both boys are hiding secrets of their own. Now she will have to choose not only between freedom and family--but between the boy who might help her save the world, and the one she's falling in love with.

My Thoughts:  I wasn’t sure what to really think of this one as I started it. It seemed like something I would really like but once I got started I did have a bit of trouble following along with it.

We are introduced to Avery who comes from a mom would do anything for her. But her mom has held a lot of secrets from Avery. Avery wants to know her dads side of the family. She always assumed he was dead since he hasn’t been around, or off hiding somewhere. She wasn’t really sure.

When she meets Jack, she feels a strong connection with him. He is the boy she starts to like. But then she gets put into another situation where she meets a boy named Stellen.

Avery gets swept away in the idea of meeting her father and his family. It’s a dangerous game but she’s eager to find out something.

I liked where this one went. It had a lot of mystery and intrigue. I liked both Jack and Stellen. Both had their good and bad quirks.

I also liked the plot and I wanted to know what would happen in Avery’s life.

Overall: I liked this one but I never really connected to the plot very well. I did like the plot but I just felt like something was missing for me. It was a strong debut and I will read the next in the series to find out what happens.

I think this one is more of a 3.5 rating for me. I liked it, I finished it, and yes I’ll move onto the next one!

Cover: Like it.  Love these sweet covers with dresses in them!
