Summary: On the night before they leave for college, Clare and Aidan have only one thing left to do: figure out whether they should stay together or break up. Over the course of twelve hours, they retrace the steps of their relationship, trying to find something in their past that might help them decide what their future should be. The night leads them to family and friends, familiar landmarks and unexpected places, hard truths and surprising revelations. But as the clock winds down and morning approaches, so does their inevitable goodbye. The question is, will it be goodbye for now or goodbye forever?
Charming, bittersweet, and full of wisdom and heart, this irresistible novel from Jennifer E. Smith, author of The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, explores the difficult choices that arise when life and love lead in different directions.
My Thoughts: I have a habit of really loving Jennifer Smith books!! But this one, I just liked it. For some reason I had a hard time connecting to either Clare or Aidan.
Clare and Aidan have been dating for a while. But, now both are leaving for college. Nowhere near each other. So, Clare decides it’s best if they part ways. Well, on their last night together she has a list of things she wants to do, or places to visit and relive their relationship.
I enjoyed seeing some of the places they go. I enjoyed their banter and I enjoyed seeing how they got past everything and decided it would be best to just part ways. No real hard feelings, just their high school relationship. I also liked getting to know some of their friends.
And, I liked how Aidan does come to terms with his family situation. I liked how each grew throughout the story, or really throughout the night.
Overall: This one just seemed fast to me, or maybe even slow. Maybe it’s because it takes place so fast. It’s not like it’s over months time and we get to know the characters very well. It’s just so sudden. I did like this one enough but it just wasn’t my favorite of Smith’s books, and that’s ok! Hopefully I do enjoy the next one better! This one is probably more of a 3.5 cupcake rating for me!
Cover: Like! I do love how each person is standing and the cutest of it. It’s super cute!

All of Jennifer E. Smith's books sound so good to me, but I still haven't read any of them. This one sounds interesting, but maybe it's not the one to start with. Thanks for the great review!
