Summary: Words are strong. Love is stronger.
When Jordyn Michaelson’s autistic brother joins her at her elite school, she’s determined not to let anyone know they're related. Even if that means closing herself off to all her closest friends, including charming football stud Alex Colby. But despite her best intentions, she just can't shake the memory of kissing Alex last summer, and the desire to do it again.
Can Jordyn find the courage to tell Alex how she really feels—and the truth about her family—before he slips away forever?
My Thoughts: We are introduced to Jordyn who is a brave young girl. She has a brother who has Autism. This is Jordyn’s big secret. She’s at a new school and when her brother also joins the school, he is her secret. A lot of people talk about him but Jordyn doesn't want anyone to know he’s her brother. She just wanted to be looked at through normal eyes.
This novel was such a joy to read. I really liked it and it dealt with so many deep subjects. Jordyn learns a lot about herself and her friends/family. She also learns how to open up with others eventually.
I also really liked Alex. Oh, Alex. Sweet Alex. I loved Jordyn and Alex’s relationship. They were friends but they also liked each other. I love all the things Alex did and was interested in! It just made him that much more sweeter.
I really enjoyed this one, and I loved Jordyn’s speech towards the end. I thought this one was a really cute joyful story.
Overall: I really enjoyed this one. Its a bit short, but also a fast read! I loved the characters and I loved seeing how Jordyn opened up to others and got past some of her fears. And, oh Alex, I liked you!
Cover: Cute! Love how she is writing with chalk. Neat!
