Summary: On Internment, the floating island in the clouds where 16-year-old Morgan Stockhour lives, getting too close to the edge can lead to madness. Even though Morgan's older brother, Lex, was a Jumper, Morgan vows never to end up like him. She tries her best not to mind that her life is orderly and boring, and if she ever wonders about the ground, and why it is forbidden, she takes solace in best friend Pen and her betrothed, Basil.

Then a murder, the first in a generation, rocks the city. With whispers swirling and fear on the wind, Morgan can no longer stop herself from investigating, especially when she meets Judas. He is the boy being blamed for the murder — betrothed to the victim — but Morgan is convinced of his innocence. Secrets lay at the heart of Internment, but nothing can prepare Morgan for what she will find — or who she will lose.

My Thoughts: Wow! Loved this one! Another Destefano book to add to the love list! I loved her other novels but this one was also so wonderful!

We are introduced to Morgan who is a 16 year old girl. She is a very curious girl and she tries to hide it. Her  brother is a jumper so she knows she must not let anyone else know she’s thought about it too. She knows she can’t end up like him. Her brother Lex and his wife live in the apartment above Morgan and her parents.

Morgan spends most of her time with her friend Pen and the guy she’s supposed to be with, Basil. I really liked both Pen and Basil. Pen was very loyal and they had been best friends forever! Basil was also very loving and sweet. He took care of Morgan and looked out for her. He never second guessed her and he loved her for her.

When Morgan finds out about a classmate being murdered, it puts everyone on alert. The little place they live in suddenly isn’t safe anymore. They tell you not to go out alone and to stay inside after dark if possible. The person blamed for the murder is Judas. He also goes to school with Morgan. Morgan ends up seeing him and getting to know him a lot better. She trusts him. She confides in him. She believes he didn’t do it.

I just can’t believe everything that happened in this novel. I found myself crying a few times. I can’t believe how ruthless the king is (was that the right title for him?) He was the ruler of Internment and he also had a son and daughter who we also meet.  The things he ordered, the things he carried out, left me devastated.

When Morgan finds out that there is a way off the floating island in the clouds (sooo cool) she realizes that the world must be a lot bigger that what everyone believes. She has to be apart of it, not like she has much choice anyway. But, its worth a shot.

I loved the plot of this one. It was so interesting. A lot of little details that made the book so good! I also loved the characters. The characters are what made this one for me. I loved them all. Even some of the not so good ones. They were interesting to say the least.

I also loved the little details of the characters. They each had such distinct personalities.

And the darn cliffhanger! OMG! I want the next one now!!!

Overall: Loved! Loved! Loved! One of my favorites of the year! Magnificent characters, plot, and everything about it awed me! Totally loved! I need more of this series now!

Cover: Love it! It totally fits. Love the girl on the front and I love the colors. Its cute!

What I’d Give It:
