Summary: Colette Iselin is excited to go to Paris on a class trip. She’ll get to soak up the beauty and culture, and maybe even learn something about her family’s French roots.
But a series of gruesome murders are taking place across the city, putting everyone on edge. And as she tours museums and palaces, Colette keeps seeing a strange vision: a pale woman in a ball gown and powdered wig, who looks suspiciously like Marie Antoinette.
Colette knows her popular, status-obsessed friends won’t believe her, so she seeks out the help of a charming French boy. Together, they uncover a shocking secret involving a dark, hidden history. When Colette realizes she herself may hold the key to the mystery, her own life is suddenly in danger . . .
Acclaimed author Katie Alender brings heart-stopping suspense to this story of revenge, betrayal, intrigue — and one killer queen.
My Thoughts: I was so excited to get this one! It had a beautiful cover and the summary sounded interesting. You always know when going into a book like this, it is going to maybe be a bit weird.
We are introduced to Colette who finds out she has some crazy family history. She gets the opportunity to travel abroad where she meets a cute boy and finds out some family history. She keeps seeing a necklace that resembles her own. And the symbols have to do with Marie Antoinette.
I honestly finished this one and still don’t know what to think about it. I understood how she wanted to fit in with her friends, but I don’t know how she could stand being friends with them. I also liked learning more about her family history as well. But I just didn’t find myself really connecting with this one. I couldn’t relate to Colette and I just didn’t care much about the Marie Antoinette story-line. I think if you're more interested in that, you’ll probably like this one.
Marie Antoinette Serial Killer was just ok for me. I finished it, and it was alright but I couldn’t really relate to it very well.
Overall: It was a fast read and short but I just didn’t find myself in love with the story or any of the characters. This one was just an ok read for me.
Cover: It’s so pretty.I would pick this up in a store!

The cover and title are certainly alluring. Wish it packed more punch with you in the end though.
