Summary:In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?
Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.
My Thoughts: Why did I wait so long to start this series? I’ve heard such wonderful things about it!
We are introduced to Clara who finds out she is a quarter part angel. She lives with her mother and brother. All angels get a vision that shows their mission and then they must wait and follow their mission, or fulfill it.
Clara gets closer and closer through visions and one day she realizes where she must go. So her family moves there. Pretty crazy to just up and move, right?
Clara meets Christian, the boy from her visions. He’s gorgeous and sweet and she feels lucky that she gets to save him. She also meets another boy named Tucker. He’s a really fun guy too but he and Clara don’t really click at first. I loved seeing Clara with both boys. It was hard to pick between them! And, I understood her need to feel drawn to Christian since she has to save him.
All she knows is she sees a fire, and Christian.
I truly loved reading this novel. I felt like I was right there with Clara going through everything she went through. I felt her emotions, I felt her fear, I felt everything she did. I loved the plot of this but most of all I loved the characters. I loved her friends, I loved the guys, I even loved her mommy.
And the ending, I didn’t even see that coming and was pleasantly surprised. It made the story for me. I just sat there and thought to myself, how did I not see that coming? At all? Totally rocked! Loved this one!
Team Tucker or Team Christian? I’m still undecided. I want them both!
Overall: Loved it! Loved the plot, the characters, and overall loved the beauty of this one. I loved the little details that made the novel. I loved it! And I Can’t wait to read the next one!
Cover: Its pretty! It was one of the first things I noticed about this one! Love the purple and love the way she’s dressed!
