Summary:  When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers - monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell - she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.

A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie's powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her - an assassin who has already killed her once.

While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie's soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian's most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives - including truths that may be too frightening to remember.

My Thoughts: Wow, Wow, Wow, why did I wait so long to read this? It was released in February and I read it in October. I wanted to wait until closer to the release date for Wings Of The Wicked, so I didn't have to wait so long in between books, but it sat on my shelf and began calling my name, so I had to pick it up.

We are introduced to Ellie who is a normal teenage girl, at least until she hits 17 years old. She has her best friends, her somewhat strict parents, and she does well in school. She seems to have it all figured out. Well, mostly, except for the crazy dreams she's been having. More like nightmares. She doesn't understand them or why she won't stop having them. Everything is normal for her.

Until she meets Will. Sexy, intriguing Will. Will is definite eye candy. He's tough, has a badass tattoo, and knows how to really make you feel special without even  trying. He comes around and insists that Ellie knew him in a past life.  Before she was born as Ellie.  Because she's the preliator, and she's been coming back since forever. She's reincarnated every time she dies.  It's the duty of the preliator and her guardian Will to fight and destroy monsters. They must do it, they must fight evil.

Elie starts to train with Will and learn how to fight. Her memories slowly start to come back but not fast or soon enough. They have bigger problems. Bastien and his crew are out to kill Elie and this time, it will be for good. They have found a secret weapon that will kill her and destroy her soul forever.

I'm going to stop there at the basics of what this book is about. I don't want to give away the whole story. Letsjust say I loved Angelfire. I was hooked from page 1, and I finished it within a day. Every chance I got to read, I did. I was addicted.

I loved the plot, I loved how everything fit together. I also loved how I read it right around Halloween and Elie was going to a Halloween party!  I loved all the sparks between Elie and Will. I loved all the time they spent together, rather it be fighting or talking about personal things. I loved the fight scenes because we actually got to feel like we were really there, right with them battling it out. It was very intense.

The whole book focused on good vs evil. We learn who has good in them and who is purely evil. We learned who Elie and Will really are as people, and who they are as warriors.

Of course Elie sees herself falling for Will, and he's always been in love with her but he knows it's forbidden and he's never acted on it before, he should keep his feelings to himself. And of course there is Landon, Elie's best friend who also loves her.

I did wish Elie would have regained her memories faster, I wanted to know exactly what she remembered about her past lives and about Will. I am glad we saw how she met him, but I wanted to know more about their involvement with each other over the centuries.

Elie was an amazing character. I loved learning more about her, I loved how strong she is, even though the world seems to be crumbling down before her. She is brave.

Angelfire was an amazing debut, I can't see where Moulton takes the story next.

Overall: If you couldn't tell by my review, I loved and adored this book. Yes, this is paranormal and there are so many paranormal books coming out right now, but Angelfire was so different and so unique. It was satisfying and perfect. I loved Will and Elie. The whole concept of this novel was freaking awesome! Purely love this one!

Cover: Love it! i love how the girl looks so alert. And the big knife in her hand helps. She looks tough and serious. The cover is somewhat mysterious.

What I'd Give It:

Since I just finished a paranormal teen book today that was anything but original I'm going to take your word that this will be above the rest in the genre. Now I'm looking forward to starting this one.

Thanks for the great review!
