Summary: On top of spending most of her time in a bunkerlike safe house and having her dates hijacked by a formidable Fae bodyguard, Faeriewalker Dana Hathaway is in for some more bad news: the Erlking and his pack of murderous minions known as the Wild Hunt have descended upon Avalon. With his homicidal appetite and immortal powers, the Erlking has long been the nightmare of the Fae realm. A fragile treaty with the Faerie Queen, sealed with a mysterious spell, is the one thing that keeps him from hunting unchecked in Avalon, the only place on Earth where humans and Fae live together. Which means Dana’s in trouble, since it’s common knowledge that the Faerie Queen wants her – and her rare Faeriewalker powers – dead. The smoldering, sexy Erlking’s got his sights set on Dana, but does he only seek to kill her, or does he have something much darker in mind?
My Thoughts: Another great novel by Black! We are back with Dana and her crazy faerie world. Both of her aunts are out to kill her, she's dealing with having her mom and dad around, feeling like a prisoner in her own new home, trying to stay out of Erklings sights, dealing with her feelings for boys, and trying to stay alive.
I really enjoyed seeing how Dana is growing up and gaining her independence. She is her own person.
The Wild Hunt has come to Avalon. Led by Arawn the Erlking, the arrival of the Hunt has Avalon's citizens both nervous and scared. I liked the new character Erkling. He's dark and mysterious at the same time. I wanted to hate him but I was on pins and needles everytime Dana ran into him.
I didn't really like Ethan as much in this book, however I did enjoy seeing Dana stick up for him and defend him. I loved seeing Keane throughout the book. I wish we could spend more time with him and get to know him a lot better.
There are so many secrets Dana is keeping from her family and she makes stupid decisions all the time so sometimes I want to smack her.
A lot happens in this one, and to truly understand you must read the book! There are surprises we don't see coming! For example, the thing she promised Arawn I had no clue what the purpose of it was, and than when she was told, my mouth dropped open!
With so many people out to kill Dana, how will she ever survive?
Shadowspell= Awesome!
Overall: I really loved this one as much as Glimmerglass. I can't wait until Sirensong releases!
