My Thoughts: We are introduced to Kate Lowry who has lost her best friend Grace. She's confused, she misses her, she's devastated. Grace died in a fire and Kate just knows theres more to the story than what anyone thinks. She doesn't think it was a accident like it was ruled. She thinks it was set up or a part of a bigger plan. When Kate starts getting emails from Grace, she wonders how its possible, saying dead girls can't use computers.

Kate teams up with her nerdy but cute neighbor Seth and the school bad boy Liam to figure out what is going on. Both boys had a place in my heart from the start.

There is more to the school Pemberly Brown than Kate realizes at first. There are secret societies. There are truths that need to be uncovered. There are hidden doorways. There are mysteries that she needs to solve!

Kate was the perfect narrator, she was just like Nancy Drew putting her heart and soul into solving the case. I also liked the flashbacks to before the fire. We get to learn more about Kate and Grace's friendship. We get to know Grace more as a person and what she was like.

I also liked all the side characters, even if some of them were jerky. They made Kate want to dig deeper and find out the truth and what happened that night.

The Liar Society was a quick mysterious read. It had all the right ingredients of a true mystery novel.

I never saw the ending coming, and I couldn't believe all the secrets we found out throughout the book. All the pieces of the puzzle started to come together and I understood exactly what happened.

Overall: I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the fast pace and how easy it was to read. The words flowed right along.

What was your life like before becoming an author?

I worked a number of jobs while going to graduate school and when I was first married. Then I quit my job at a television station when I had my son, and I became a stay-at-home mom. I didn't write during those years. I put all my creative energy into raising my kids.

  
Which comes first? The character's story or the idea for the novel?

Each book has its own unique genesis. For Coffeehouse Angel, the character of Katrina popped into my head. Even though I didn't have a story for her, she stayed with me and eventually, the story began to take shape. For Saving Juliet, the concept came first, as it did with Mad Love.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I've always been a storyteller. I created picture books, wrote plays and performed them at school, etc. But I never identified with the term "writer." Even though I got a lot of praise from creative writing teachers, I knew thought that I'd go in that direction.

I didn't actually use the word "writer" until after my first book was published.

What inspired you to write your first book?

 My kids. My first published book was To Catch a Mermaid and I was reading all these great books with my kids. I knew I wanted to write for that age group.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

It may sound like the same old advice, but it's true--you need determination in this business. You're going to get a lot of "not interested" and it hurts like hell. It's all part of the process.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

My writing group was critical to my success. They kept me motivated. They helped keep me grounded.

My Thoughts: Have I mentioned how much I loved Eulberg's first novel, The Lonely Hearts Club? I reviewed it last year so of course when I found out about Prom and Prejudice releasing, I knew I'd have to run right out and buy it! And I did.  As soon as it was available from amazon, I bought myself a copy! 

From the first page, I was hooked. We are introduced to Lizzy who just started Longbourn Academy a few months ago. She isn't like everyone else at the school. Heck, there is only one other student attending who is in the same boat as her. Lizzie is a scholarship student. Basically, she is shunned. She gets hit in the face with things, she gets picked on over and over again.  Not many people want to be associated with her, because she is seen as poor while everyone else at the school is worried about designer clothes and how to make themselves look better socially. Lizzie is a mastermind at piano. She just loves playing! And is very talented. 

Everyone at Longbourne Academy is also so obsessed with going to prom and finding the perfect date. Lizzie doesn't really care about that stuff. She shops at Old Navy and she appreciates the things she has.

At least Lizzie has one good friend, named Jane. Jane has started dating a boy from the other school named Charles. Jane really likes Charles and they start hanging out together but Jane always wants Lizzie to tag along. Of course also tagging along is Charles sister and Charles best friend Will Darcy. Darcy and Lizzie detest each other. They are constantly bickering and do not like each other one bit. Than Lizzie meets another guy George Wickham. Finally, Lizzie starts to think she can actually have a boyfriend but theres a motive between Wickham's relationship with Lizzie. The girl just can not get a break. And Darcy and Wickham hate each other.

I loved seeing Darcy and Lizzie's relationship develop. They do like each other, but in the beginning it's not really known why. We know that he doesn't like scholarship kids and Lizzie hates that! She thinks he's a stuck up snobby jerk.

I enjoyed seeing all the bickering back and forth. I loved Jane and Lizzie's friendship. I loved Prom and Prejudice so much. There are so many surprises throughout the book that make your stomach turn over; in a good way. It puts a smile on your face and makes you want to gush. 

Overall: I can't say enough about how much I loved Prom and Prejudice! It was a sweet, romantic, and funny book! If you haven't read The Lonely Hearts Club be sure to pick that one up when you pick up Prom And Prejudice!

My Thoughts: We are introduced to Kay, your average teenager. She is the sheriff's daughter so her actions are always supposed to be innocent and forthcoming. She lives right next to a boarder separating the human world but filled with dragons. She's been told her whole life dragons are dangerous and to stay as far away from them as possible. One day she goes rockclimbing (she always does so this day is no different) she has an accident and falls into a river. She is than rescued by a dragon named Artegal. She's scared out of her wits and he than talks to her! Dragons can talk!!! What?

Kay and Artegal form a friendship. He just wants to learn to talk more. He can talk but isn't real good at it. If anyone finds out about Kay and Artegal talking, it could be deadly for both of them and the rest of the world, since there is a treaty between humans and dragons that they stay on their own land.

Of course, all hell breaks lose and everyone finds out. It causes havoc!

Voices Of Dragons was very unique. I have never read quite a dragon story like this one. There are also side characters as well. Kay's best friend and of course her boyfriend. We do learn a bit about her boyfriend but not much. There isn't a whole lot of romance in this book, there is just the battle between dragons and humans and friendship.

Overall: I really enjoyed this one, even without romance. I tend to read romance books more often than not. I loved learning about the dragons and wanted to learn more. It was a really good book. I read it one sitting. Everytime I was going to stop, I was almost through a chapter so I kept going.

Cover: The cover is simple, yet so pretty. I like the way she is standing sideways.

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed Coffeehouse Angel by Selfors so I was excited to read Mad Love. I just had to see what else Suzanne had in store for us. We are introduced to Alice who is a famous author's daughter. She hides tons of secrets about her mother. Everyone thinks her mother is off working on her latest novel while Alice and the people who live in her building know the truth. The truth is that The Queen Of Romance is having mental problems. Alice goes to her mom's signing in her place and meets a guy named Errol who claims he's cupid. He wants Alice to write his story, the story of him and Psyche. First off, I'll say that I didn't know much about this story going in which is ironic because I'm such a believer in love and all things having to do with love. Alice also meets another guy Tony, aka skateboard guy. She admires him from a far through her window for a few weeks than finally bumps into him. Fate?

We are taken down the long winding road of Alice helping Errol write his story and Alice getting to know Tony. I kind of felt Errol was a jerk at first to Alice making her do what he wanted but I kind of understood since he didn't have much time left and he wanted his story written. I instantly liked Tony. I laughed out loud when he said he liked cereal too during a conversation with Alice.

I enjoyed watching Alice begin to learn how serious her mom's condition is, and how to grow up and be responsible. She was just so young trying to juggle all the problems of a household on her own and that broke my heart.

Selfors knows how to make me laugh, smile, cry for Alice, and have a good time getting to know the characters. I also liked all the other characters throughout the book.

Overall: I really liked Mad Love! It was a sweet wonderful story!

Cover: Love the cover! It's so simple but neat. I love the heart and I love the words inside it.

And Ann - she started the Betterment Plan to improve Quigley and herself, but it seems like it's ripping their friendship to shreds.

This road to the prom dream may just end in disaster.

My Thoughts: We are introduced to Quigley and Ann who are best friends but couldn't be more different. Ann has a celebrity mom while Quigley is pretty ordinary. Ann's had a boyfriend or more like tons, Quigley hasn't. Ann and Quigley end up being models for Ann's moms class. They want to earn a little extra money for their prom dresses. What better way to do it than become a model for a class? They have to be models for a designer class where people in the class will fit their designs on them. Pretty simple right? Both girls end up with two guys tailing them and than the drama begins. I won't tell too much of Ann's story besides the fact that I really enjoyed her daddy drama. The rest you'll have to find out when you read the book.. I will focus on Quigley since she was my favorite girl. Her arch-rival David from school starts taking a liking to her and Quigley just doesn't understand him. Why would he even like her when all he has done is be mean to her? They have competed and competed in art competitions and Ann finds him annoying and a bit of a jerk. He always seemed to be looking out for himself more than anything.

Than there is Zander who is the only person in the whole class who wanted to use her as his model. Him being a designer,  Quigley thought maybe he was gay. They become friends and really hit it off. Quigley is trying to decide which guy is for her throughout the book while juggling plans with Ann on how to get both girls a prom date. 

Honestly, I can't say much more or else I'll give everything away about the book. I liked Quigley and Ann's relationship even though they both had their problems and quirks. I wanted to see Quigley be a bit more confident but I understood she was the shy one. 

I did not see the twists coming with Zander, I wondered what his story was throughout the book but it didn't even dawn on me the reasoning behind his personality.  I really liked that it surprised the heck out of me. 

Will Work For Prom Dress was a cute and fun read. It would be a neat book to read before going to prom!  

Overall: I really enjoyed Will Work For Prom Dress. It was hilarious  and adorable. I liked the love triangles and my favorite scene was when they were looking at the stars. Awwww! 

Cover: The cover has a lot of nice colors. Even though it doesn't have real people on it, its still a really cute cover.

My Thoughts: Another Jennifer Laurens book that I adore! We meet Ashlyn who is 17 years old. She lives with her mother and father who basically treat her like a child. When she was just a little girl, she was kidnapped so ever since she has had a personal bodyguard and is watched over 24/7. The only time she is ever really alone is in her house in her bedroom, and her bodyguard still lives with them. But at least she's free to go room to room on her own. Ashlyn is fighting to have a little independence. She wants to be able to walk down the street on her own. Her latest bodyguard Stuart, has became infatuated with her and is in love with her. She eventually gets him fired. Her dad is too quick to find her another bodyguard.

All Ash wants to do is be normal, she wants to play piano, have friends, go on dates, and think about college. 

Whose her new bodyguard? Does Ash know him? Who is he? She comes down the steps to meet him and its none other than Collin, the boy who tortured her and picked on her when she was a child. She hates him with a passion. She spent years trying to get over him picking on her, and now he's her bodyguard?? NO!

It doesn't help matters that Collin has actually turned nice and hot so Ash has trouble staying mad at him. They spend more and more time together and she starts to feel things she shouldn't be feeling. Remember, she's supposed to hate him.

She's got quite a few dilemmas on her hands, as her parents are fighting, there are always girls at school trying to get Collin's attention, Ash just can't catch a break.

There are also new threats on Ash's life and she has people watching her every move. 

I won't say much more. You have to read the book to find out what happens. The story between Collin and Ash was beautiful. I had been in love with this cover ever since I saw it, and the book did not disappoint me one little bit. I feel in love with it from the very first page.I loved Ash and Collin's story. 

Overall: I loved Overprotected. I'd love to have Collin guard me any day of the week! Swoon! 

Cover: Love it! Its sexy! Her standing behind him is awesome, and he's a good looking guy! Very sexy and awesome cover.

Something's not right in Cryer’s Cross - and Kendall’s about to find out just how far the townspeople will go to keep their secrets buried.

My Thoughts: Hmmm. I find this review really hard to write. First off, I will say that I'm a huge fan of McMann's other books. There was just something about them that always left me wanting more. Cryer's Cross was not like anything McMann had ever written before. We are introduced to Kendall who lives in a small town. When I say small, I mean small. There were around 200 people who lived there. It was mainly farms, a small school, and country living. She had her friend/boyfriend N and the town mostly consisted of guys. She didn't like to label her relationship with N so calling him a boyfriend is a bit of an overstatement I guess. There weren't a whole lot of girls Kendall could hang out with. A while back, a girl went missing. They never did find her. The town still remembers it and people are still afraid to go out at night. Kendall also has OCD so she has to go to school early to make sure things are in order-especially the desks. When a new family arrives in town it shakes things up a bit. There is a guy and a girl. We'll call them J and M for now. I don't want to give away too many spoilers including how cool their names were. hehe.

Well, one day her "boyfriend" starts acting weird and than he too goes missing. She starts to become better friends with M and J and they are there for her. She starts to have feelings towards J. In my eyes, the chemistry was always there and they had serious romantic potential. The soccer element also helped a lot for character development.

Anyways, come to find out, messages are being written on N's old desk (there is so much mystery to this desk) and Kendall starts hearing voices.

I don't want to give away the whole plot to this one so I will end there so you can read the book to find out what happens yourself. Does Kendall end up with her "boyfriend" or the new guy? Doe's she ever get over her OCD? Is there more to this town and its mysteries than we know?

Overall: It's hard to describe this book. I liked it but I didn't love it. It was a fast read just like McMann's previous books. It was definitely weird but a good weird. Does that make sense? If you like The Dream Catcher books, you'll most likely enjoy this one, but if your like me probably not as much.

My Thoughts: I had waited a few months to read Past Midnight after its official release date. Why? I have no flipping clue! This book was really good!  

 We are introduced to Charlotte and her weird family. First there is her parents who are basically ghost hunters and have their own television show. Next there is her sister Annalise who Charlotte is always comparing herself too. They run their own ghost show parading around the country trying to get ghosts or energy in action and that makes Charlotte one weird girl to others. Charlotte and her parents spend the summer near her sister's college and a weird energy attaches itself to Charlotte and follows her to their next home.    

Her parents have been forced into staying in the same place for a year because Annalise wants them to.  Charlotte finally gets to have friends! Yay! She meets a cheerleader named Avery and becomes friends with her. But of course her friend is hiding secrets and Charlotte kind of gets dragged into them. She needs to find a solution to solve all the problems surrounding her new friends, the mystery between Jared, her secret crush on Noah, her new ghosts, and how to keep her family's jobs a secret (yeah right)!  Charlotte just needs a good night's sleep (how do you get one of those when you have ghosts stalking you?) and have a stress free day!  

This book is just over 200 pages so I won't say much else! If you like ghost stories you'll probably enjoy this. I'm more of a romantic and there wasn't a whole lot of romance in it but I'm hoping things heat up between Noah and Charlotte in the next book!  

Overall: I really enjoyed reading Past Midnight! I can't wait to read One Hundred Candles! I'm very excited for it!

My Thoughts: Whoa. Lately, I have been wondering what it would be like to go back in time and relive my mistakes, to have the opportunity to redo everything. This book did just that for me. No silly, I did not go back in time and change my life but I got to experience Kate's biggest mistake with her. Kate, is dating Isaac, popular Issac. Everyone likes Issac. He's into sports and every girls dream guy. Kate has been dating him for a few years so they are pretty much themselves around each other. Long before they started dating, they were even friends. They are also best friends with Mitch, whom they have also known their whole lives. One night, Kate goes to a party and Isaac doesn't join her. She ends up kissing Mitch and Isaac ends up finding out and breaks up with her. Kate is devastated. It was a mistake, it was a mistake, it was a mistake. Yes, I meant to write that three times, because I'm trying to convince myself and Kate, that it was a mistake.

Kate ends up wearing a necklace of her grandmas the fateful night that Isaac breaks up with her. As she stands on the side of the road, she starts to feel hot, and all of a sudden she's back to the night she kissed Mitch. She gets to change everything! She gets to change her mistake or take it back. She gets to prevent it! But at what cost? A lot of little things are different in this new scenario. Little things she tries not to pay attention too but she knows they are changing and she wonders why.

She spends more time trying to be perfect for Isaac. The kiss between Mitch never happens. What will happen between Isaac and Kate? Are Mitch and Kate just friends still?

I just have to point out my favorite scene of the whole book was at the party towards the end, where the mystery guy is singing Kate a song. Loved that scene. At least where he's up on stage! Very very awesome. I felt like I was really there. I also loved the apple scene, the tree-house scene, you get the point. This book was neat!

Overall: Loved this one! I loved watching Kate discover some mistakes should happen while others shouldn't. I loved Mitch! He was my favorite of the two guys.

Cover: It's very neat. At first glance, I thought they were different girls and this was a story about two girls. It wasn't. LOL

My Thoughts: Honestly, I didn't think anything Oliver could write could outshine Before I Fall. I really loved Before I Fall. But I loved Delirium way more. When I first read the description I knew I had to read it. I am a hopeless romantic so the concept seemed so intriguing. I had to learn more about Oliver's world of no love. Would heartbreak end from love? Or would it just enforce more heartbreak? How can you truly be happy if love is out of the question?

We are introduced to Lena who lives in a society where love (delirium nervosa) is frowned upon. At the age of 18, everyone undergoes a procedure to take away all emotions leading to love. Lena is 17 so her time is coming. She just wants to get it over with, she wants to be cured. It's all she has ever known and going against the government would result in dire consequences. But Lena agrees for the most part, she just wants to get it over with so she does not end up like her mother. We are introduced to all of the side characters. We meet Lena's family; the only family she has left after her mother, whom was claimed by delirium nervosa which led up to her death. We meet Lena's best friend Hanna. I really liked her best friend. She reminded me a lot of the girls I hung out with during my teens. The relationship between them was beautiful, they were there for each other like best friends should be. We are than introduced to Alex, who tells Lena he's already been cured so its safe to hang out with him. Of course Lena starts to have feelings for Alex. I loved Alex. At first glance, at first wink, I adored his character. He was sincere, sweet, and he was an all around good guy despite the rumors about those who were outsiders.

The relationship between Alex and Lena was beautiful. Beautiful I tell you! Nothing could compare to the way they treated each other. When Lena is caught holding hands with another guy (the guy she is to be married to after the cure) instead of getting possessive Alex goes and tries to do a good thing for Lena. He was unselfish and thoughtful. Alex and Lena decide that they must take the next step to be together and even though it is very risky, they love each other so they know they can not exist in this society and must find a way out.

I read Delirium right after Matched by Allie Condie and even though they were both set in a somewhat dystopian world, I liked Delirium more than Matched. Matched felt more dystopian while Delirium felt more worldly, even though the laws existed. I started Delirium and I didn't stop once even though it was 450ish pages. Delirium was marvelous and Oliver sure has an imagination! Be prepared to cry and have the tissues handy. Delirium is a epic love story full of emotion and how one choice (to be in love or not to be) could effect the rest of your life.

Overall: Loved it! A must read for 2011. Get your wallets ready and rush out and buy this one right now!
