Summary: From the author of Cracked Up to Be and Some Girls Are comes a gripping story about one girl’s search for clues into the mysterious death of her father.
When Eddie Reeves’s father commits suicide her life is consumed by the nagging question of why? Why when he was a legendary photographer and a brilliant teacher? Why when he seemed to find inspiration in everything he saw? And, most important, why when he had a daughter who loved him more than anyone else in the world? When she meets Culler Evans, a former student of her father’s and a photographer himself, an instant and dangerous attraction begins. Cullen seems to know more about her father than she does and could possibly hold the key to the mystery surrounding his death. But Eddie’s vulnerability has weakened her and Culler Evans is getting too close. Her need for the truth keeps her hanging on...but are some questions better left unanswered?
My Thoughts: I just adore Courtney Summers! I have been excited to read Fall For Anything since I heard it was being released which was months ago. We meet Eddie who just lost her father. He committed suicide and all Eddie wants to know is why. She can't function right, her mom barely makes it out of bed, when she actually does. Her life is in turmoil and she doesn't know how to deal. She sneaks out at night. She goes back to the place where her dad committed suicide and spends time there. Eddie was the one who found him. Eddie has a best friend-Milo and he tries to be there for her but she pushes him away at every turn. Not to mention he's hanging out with his ex-girlfriend so Eddie doesn't want to be around them. All of her other friends are on eggshells around her afraid they will say the wrong thing.
Than one day she meets Culler. He's older, more mature, and a photographer. He's Eddie's dad student. They feel an instant connection between each other and the romance takes off. He takes her to pick up some stuff at her dad's office and they talk. They than end up taking a road trip together to find out more about her dad and what he left behind.
I won't say much else about the plot unless I'll ruin it. Honestly, I liked Culler at first glance, but something was missing for me. At times I wanted to punch him the face. I guess I wanted her to end up with Milo from the get go. I liked him and he really understood her so when another guy came in the picture I instantly wanted him gone. I wanted her to open her eyes, and say look, the perfect guy is right in front of me.
Eddie was a fierce independent strong girl and she constantly stood up for herself. She was outspoken and would confront people even if it made them uncomfortable.
Fall For Anything was a bit romance, mystery, grieving, longing, denial, comfort, family. It was a bit of everything you could ever hope for.
Overall: I really loved Fall For Anything. I'll read whatever Summers writes. She's amazing. I loved how the book started with Eddie explaining how her hands were cold. If you haven't read Fall For Anything, Cracked Up To Be, Or Some Girls Are, what are you waiting for? Order them now!
Cover: Love it. Its so simple yet really pretty. I love her hair and the way it falls. I also love the pictures in the background on the wall. Very artistic!
