Summary: Sick of vampires? So is Meena Harper.
But her boss is making her write about them anyway, even though Meena doesn’t believe in them.
Not that Meena isn’t familiar with the supernatural. See, Meena Harper knows how you’re going to die (not that you’re going to believe her; no one ever does).
But not even Meena’s precognition can prepare her for what happens when she meets—then makes the mistake of falling in love with—Lucien Antonescu, a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side . . . a dark side a lot of people, like an ancient society of vampire-hunters, would prefer to see him dead for.
The problem is, he already is dead. Maybe that’s why he’s the first guy Meena’s ever met that she could see herself having a future with. See, while Meena’s always been able to see everyone else’s future, she’s never been able look into her own.
And while Lucien seems like everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, he might turn out to be more like a nightmare.

Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future . . .
If she even has one.

My Thoughts: Oh, Cabot how do I even start this review? I am a huge Meg Cabot fan. As I was a teenager and as every Princess Diaries book hit the bookstore I would run out and buy it. About a year ago, I heard that Queen Of Babble was being made into a movie so I than read that! As much I enjoyed all Cabot's previous work, Insatiable was just ok for me. I started reading it, and about halfway through I just wanted to finish it so I could move onto something else.
We meet Meena who is not your average women. She can see how a person dies. Yes, this is a burden but she lives her life the only way she can and tries to help those out by letting them know to avoid certain circumstances, etc.
We than meet Lucian who is your modern day vampire prince. He is crucial and protective and doesn't care too much about people. He seems to live in his own world.
There are a lot of other characters throughout the book, her brother, friends, a guy who is trying to hurt Lucian, someone else who has the hots for Meena.
Insatiable was written from multiple points of views and the only ones I really enjoyed was Meena's and Lucian's. I just didn't care for the other characters much.
Meena and Lucian meet and of course she doesn't see how he will die (he's already dead duh) and they fall in love. I mean, instantly, she falls in love with him after barely being told his name. Did this bug anyone else?
As I said before, Insatiable was ok. I did manage to finish it even though it felt really long and overdrawn. I liked it, but I didn't love it. There were some parts that were better than others. For example, when Meena and Lucian met at the party while there were others that were starting to give me a headache. For example, when the book focused on her brother- I just didn't care! And, the first half of the book took a lot longer to read than the second half.
Overall: I love Cabot but Insatiable was a bit of a let down. I love vampires but I just never felt the vampire love for Lucian as I have others (The Argeneau brothers for example). I think this is a book that you might read over time, such as a few chapters a night otherwise it might just feel like a really long tiring book. Cabot is a great author but in my opinion, this was not her best work but she will still remain on my list of favorite authors and I look forward to her next book!
Cover: I like it. Like her red dress. It's very unique.
