Forget You
By Jennifer Echols
Summary: There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four-year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. With her life about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon.
But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all—the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug—of all people—suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her. Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life—a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug.
My Thoughts: Over the past 24 hours I kept reliving this book over and over in my head, trying to find the right words to write this review. I can't stress enough how beautiful this book is! Yes, it was that darn good! We are introduced to Zoey and Zoey's crazy family troubles. Her mom tries to commit suicide, her dad is marrying a 24 year old, and she along with her whole swim team except Doug works at the family business as lifeguards. After her mom's suicide attempt she is forced to go live with her dad. Why so much family craziness? Zoey just wants to be normal! She hooks up with her buddy Brandon even though she knows how he is (hooks up with all the girls). She sleeps with him and thinks that maybe he'll be different, who knows. Brandon is kind of guy you'd just have as a friend. You know his ways, so you would never really "want" to hook up with him or be his girlfriend. Well, there are so many characters throughout this book and they are all so appealing. We meet her other friends on the swim team but most of all we are introduced to Doug.Doug went to juvie a few years ago and everyone is afraid to mess with him. I liked Doug from the first sentence. I just knew there had to be a sweet side underneath that rough exterior. He and Zoey don't get a long real well. Everyone thinks he really dislikes her and they are always at eachothers throats. They have a history together and as the story unfolds you realize all the reasons why they don't see eye to eye. One night Zoey goes out to one of the beach parties and is in a car accident. She is dragged out of the car by Doug. But she doesn't remember what happened. Why is he there? Why was he in the other car with Mike (who he doesn't even like)? All she knows is she has a bump on her head and Doug has a broken leg! The next morning, she wakes up to find Doug in her living room acting all cuddly and sweet thinking they are together now. She's confused!!! What the heck happened last night?
This story goes from there as she tries to figure out what happen and why is Doug all of a sudden looking so delicious to her! There is sarcasm, wit, and a certain sweetness about this book. I don't want to give away the whole story because this book is so good and you have to read it yourself but I want to point out my favorite parts!!!! First off, there was one scene where Doug and Zoey were in the bus and Doug has his head on Zoey's lap. There was nowhere else to sit and Doug had to elevate his leg and she didn't want to sit on the nasty floor. This was so romantic, its like Echols got right into my head and took out my favorite romantic scene that I've wanted to see in a book forever!!!! The whole thing was beautiful, even the way her eyes traced down his belly button!!!!! Oh yeah! My other favorite scene was where Doug and Zoey were in the back of the police car and she was against him. When he said, "You Know I've Been Awake" I laughed so hard I thought I was going to cry! When you read Forget You, you'll understand exactly what I mean.
Lets just put it this way, Jennifer Echols has a way with words. Forget You was beautiful, intelligent, and downright sexy! Zoey and Doug were meant to be together from the get go! The chemistry between them was smoldering! So hot, I thought my eyes were going to catch fire!!!
Overall: Loved Loved Loved Loved Loved This! I really enjoyed Going Too Far but Forget You was 100x better!!!! This book is definitely one you should read this year! I usually do not reread books but this is one I will be rereading!
Cover: This is one of the most amazing covers ever. It is beautiful! The girl is pretty and the guy is super hot! Even his eyelashes!

Seducing The Succubus by Cassie Ryan
Summary: This series is about four succubus who are in Hell’s version of the Witness Relocation Program. They helped bring down a powerful demon back during the 1300s who was killing off the human population using the black plague. Now the demon has escaped and he’s mad as hell and looking for revenge not only on the succubus, but the world.
Yes, I do occasionally read stuff that isn't Young Adult. This looks like one I'd like! At first glance, the guy looks like Oliver on Smallville. That is a sure sign I should read it!

Twenty Boy Summer By Sarah Ockler
Summary: "Don't worry, Anna. I'll tell her, okay? Just let me think about the best way to do it."
"Okay."
"Promise me? Promise you won't say anything?"
"Don't worry." I laughed. "It's our secret, right?"
According to her best friend Frankie, twenty days in is the perfect opportunity to have a summer fling, and if they meet one boy ever day, there's a pretty good chance Anna will find her first summer romance. Anna lightheartedly agrees to the game, but there's something she hasn't told Frankie---she's already had that kind of romance, and it was with Frankie's older brother, Matt, just before his tragic death one year ago.
Beautifully written and emotionally honest, this is a debut novel that explores what it truly means to love someone and what it means to grieve, and ultimately, how to make the most of every single moment this world has to offer.
My Thoughts: I've been on a good book spree lately! I've been reading wonderful books! First we are introduced to Anna and her two best friends Frankie and Matt. Frankie and Matt are siblings. They have all known each other forever, since they were kids. Recently, on Anna's birthday, Matt and Anna kiss and start a beautiful secret relationship. Matt and Frankie are going on vacation soon and Matt says he will tell Frankie at that time. It needs to be him who breaks the news to her. Anna and Matt fear it may change things between the 3 of them. I loved the first kiss between Matt and Anna. We don't get to know much about Matt before the accident but I could already feel like I knew him my whole life. Matt is than taken away from Anna and Frankie. Frankie loses her brother and Anna loses the one guy she's always loved. Well, Anna vowed to let Matt tell Frankie about their relationship so she won't break her promise to him. Time goes on, and Frankie's family asks Anna to go on vacation with them. The same spot the family had spent years going too. Its going to be weird without Matt there and even weird that Anna is with them (she had never went). Frankie has a brilliant plan! To meet twenty boys during the vacation. How can Anna meet boys when all she can do is still think about Matt? And what happen to the necklace he wore around his neck? I wanted to jump into the book and get a search party out for that necklace, I wanted it so bad so I could give it to Anna.
Anna and Frankie meet two boys named Sam and Jake. Honestly, I didn't want to like Sam, I didn't! If I liked him, would that make Matt disappear in my mind? Should she still be pining over a dead boy?
This book was marvelous! I loved the idea of a twenty boy summer, even though they made it nowhere near Twenty. I loved Matt. I even liked Sam. I think the best part of the book was the bond of friendship between Anna and Frankie and Matt. Even though Matt wasn't around, I could still feel him. I loved the stolen kisses and late nights with Matt. I even really liked Sam. I still longed for Matt but Sam was still a good guy. The dialogue was all written so beautifully. I felt like I was sitting on a beach taking it all in. It was such a emotional and heavy book. Half of the time I didn't know rather to be happy for Anna or cry for her. I loved her diary entries. I loved her for even keeping the diary.
Want to know what happens to Anna? What about Sam? Want to get to know Matt better? Does Frankie find out about Matt and Anna's relationship? Than what happens?
Overall: If you haven't noticed by now, I adored this book. Please go read it today! Ever felt like you were cheated by time? Kiss a guy and have him taken away too soon? Love your childhood best friend? Read this book today.
Cover: Its so simple yet elegant!

The Clearing by Heather Davis
Summary: Amy, a sixteen-year-old recovering from an abusive relationship, moves to the country to start a new life with her aunt–all she wants is for everything to be different. In the clearing at the back of Aunt Mae’s property, she makes an amazing discovery—Henry, a boy stuck in the endless summer of 1944. Henry and his world become Amy’s refuge and she begins to learn that some moments are worth savoring. But when the past and present come crashing together, both of them must find the courage to face what is meant to be, even if it means losing each other forever.
My Thoughts: We are introduced to Amy who comes to live with her Aunt Mae. All we know about her at first is she is fleeing from an abusive relationship. She moves in with her aunt and starts to go to school. She meets a few friends but she basically spends all of her time alone and one day she goes out far in the backyard and finds a mist. She steps into the mist and she's swept away in another world, literally. Its another time period. She meets Henry who she notices right off the bat that he is really old fashioned. At first she just thinks his family really are country folk.
Amy and Henry get to know each other and fall in love. She starts to realize she really cares about him and starts questioning things like why he never comes over and why he says some of things he does. For example, they never go into town. It dawns on her, there really is something magical about the mist. They really are living in another time period.
Honestly, this book sounds really simple but its not. Its complex, its beautiful, and you just can't fully understand that unless you read it. What if you loved someone and had no choice but to never be with them? It just isn't physically possible.
My favorite part was probably the ending. Amy wakes up and realizes things. I liked the way things worked out.
Overall: I thought this book was really good and it was written beautifully. The only thing I, myself kept wondering was what about her ex? What exactly did he do to Amy? We realize he apparently hit her and treated her like crap. But I wanted more details on that. I felt like I could have understand Amy a lot more at first if I had more details on what she had to go through. I know it really wasn't relevant for the story (between Amy and Henry) but I still wanted to know.
Cover: I'm not a big fan of the color green but the cover is ok. I like the quote on the front though.

The Snowball Effect By Holly Nicole Hoxter
My Thoughts: YES! YES! YES! Its been a little while that I read a book that I absolutely loved. I had seen a few buddies reading this a few months ago, and knew I had to give it a chance from their words on goodreads. I'm so happy I did. It was a great book. We meet Lainey who is 18 but has her whole life ahead of her. She gets thrown into a world of responsibility. Her mother takes her own life which leaves her 5 year old brother and a sister she never knew. We also meet her perfect boyfriend. I really liked Lainey's boyfriend. I loved their relationship and he just seemed so together, I wish I could have dated him at 18. She also meets another guy, who she is drawn too. She is so confused between the two. I also really liked him as well. That is usually what happens, you get stuck between two great guys!!! They are complete opposites! Honestly I'm happy who she chooses in the end. Lainey has to deal with everything, money, family, boys, best friends, drama, confusion, hurt. I could totally relate to Lainey. She did hold it together most of the time. I would have probably broke down if I had been through everything at her age. I really loved this book. I loved the characters. I loved the way she treated her brother. I loved the how the relationship with her sister blossomed. I loved the two guys. I loved Lainey. She was just a special girl. Please read this book! Its wonderful!
Overall: Loved It! It was one that was worth staying up at night for!
Cover: Its awesome! I love the way the authors name is across the cups. Its one of the more creative covers I've seen in a while!

Sing Me To Sleep
Summary: THE TRANSFORMATION
Beth has always been “The Beast”—that’s what everyone at school calls her because of her awkward height, facial scars, and thick glasses. Beth’s only friend is geeky, golden-haired Scott. That is, until she’s selected to be her choir’s soprano soloist, and receives the makeover that will change her life forever.
THE LOVE AFFAIR
When Beth’s choir travels to Switzerland, she meets Derek: pale, brooding, totally dreamy. Derek’s untethered passion—for music, and for Beth—leaves her breathless. Because in Derek’s eyes? She’s not The Beast, she’s The Beauty.
THE IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE
When Beth comes home, Scott, her best friend in the world, makes a confession that leaves her completely torn. Should she stand by sweet, steady Scott or follow the dangerous, intense new feelings she has for Derek?
THE HEARTBREAK
The closer Beth gets to Derek, the further away he seems. Then Beth discovers that Derek’s been hiding a dark secret from her …one that could shatter everything.
My Thoughts: Whoa. I have read Morrison's previous book, Taken by Storm and while I gave it 4 cupcakes, Sing Me To Sleep deserves 5 cupcakes all the way! We meet Beth who is called The Beast. Everyone thinks she is ugly, nasty, etc. but I never saw her that way at all. She was beautiful inside and she had a great soul. We meet Scott who is Beth's best friend and always has been. They both have feelings for each other but are too scared to act upon them. We meet Derek who is from another town and also doing the choir field trip Beth goes on. By this time Beth has had a makeover and Derek only sees the "new" her. They start to fall in love and Beth goes back home. Derek and Beth continue to see each other but Derek has a horrible secret. I won't say much else without telling you the rest of the story. But this book is a must read for all of you! It had me frustrated, because deep down I wanted Scott and Beth together, but on the other hand I was in tears wanting to know Derek's secret!!! This book is beautifully written and I will continue to read Morrison's books or works of greatness!!!
Overall: Loved it! Heartfelt! Must read! Beautiful.
Cover: Love the cover! It is beautiful! And the effects on it are great!
What I'd Give It:
Swoon At Your Own Risk
By Sydney Salter
Summary: You’d think Polly Martin would have all the answers when it comes to love—after all, her grandmother is the famous syndicated advice columnist Miss Swoon. But after a junior year full of dating disasters, Polly has sworn off boys. This summer, she’s going to focus on herself for once. So Polly is happy when she finds out Grandma is moving in—think of all the great advice she’ll get. But Miss Swoon turns out to be a man-crazy sexagenarian! How can Polly stop herself from falling for Xander Cooper, the suddenly-hot skateboarder who keeps showing up while she’s working at Wild Waves water park, when Grandma is picking up guys at the bookstore and flirting with the dishwasher repairman? No advice column can prepare Polly for what happens when she goes on a group camping trip with three too many ex-boyfriends and the tempting Xander. Polly is forced to face her feelings and figure out if she can be in love—and still be herself.
My Thoughts: We meet Polly aka Pollywog who has too many ex-boyfriends. She has went through guys fast mostly because she adjusts her life to match theirs. If they like cars, she likes cars. We also meet a few of her ex-boyfriends and the ex-boyfriend who drives her bonkers named Sawyer. Polly has a summer job at the pool with Sawyer and everyday he makes her life rough bossing her around calling her pollywog (which she does not like). Her family is struggling financially so she has to keep the job at the pool. Her grandmother also comes to stay with them and throughout the book we realize that Polly has a lot of daddy issues. We also meet Xander, the boy that has always lived on her street. I liked him from the get go and I wanted Polly to date him even though she has sworn off boys. They all end up on a camp trip! Read the book if you want to know what happens on the trip! The beginning of the book was a little bit slow but it does pick up. I think the difficult thing was getting to know each boyfriend and trying to keep their names straight. Other than that, even though it starts off slow, don't quit reading. If you need a break, just take a break and continue on. There are laugh out loud moments, and aww moments. For example, when he licks the ice cream off her chin. Made Me Swoon!
Overall: Liked it. I really enjoyed reading about Penny and I liked the advice column from her grandma. I also really liked Xander.
Cover: I like the cover. Like how we can see Penny and the swimming pool.
Hearts At Stake: House Of Drake
Summary: On Solange’s sixteenth birthday, she is going to wake up dead. As if that’s not bad enough, she also has to outwit her seven overprotective older brothers, avoid the politics involved with being the only daughter born to an ancient vampire dynasty, and elude Kieran Black—agent of an anti-vampire league who is searching for his father’s killer and is intent on staking Solange and her entire family.Luckily she has her own secret weapon—her human best friend Lucy—who is willing to defend Solange’s right to a normal life, whether she’s being smothered by her well-intentioned brothers or abducted by a power-hungry queen. Two unlikely alliances are formed in a race to save Solange’s eternal life—Lucy and Solange’s brother Nicholas, and Solange and Kieran Black—in a dual romance that is guaranteed to jump start any romance-lover’s heart.Even fans of the genre who’ve seen it all will find a fresh read with kick-butt characters and family dynamics that ring true for all brothers and sisters—vampire or otherwise.
My Thoughts: When I picked this up, I was looking for a vampire romance story that would tide me over for a while. First off, we'll start off with the characters. I essentially liked all the characters. It is also told in 2 people's points of view. We meet Solange who is the only girl born into the family in many many years. Her destiny is to become a vampire on her 16th birthday and to eventually rule. Of course, she just wants to be normal. With her human best friend Lucy by her side, she tries to be as normal as possible but that is kind of hard when your surrounded by your whole family of vampires every single day. We meet Nicholas who I instantly clicked with. Something about him drew me in to him. Lucy has started to develop feelings for Nicholas and she wonders if he feels the same way. Well, vampire hunters eventually come to their house and Solange gets kidnapped. She teams up with an unlikely alliance. I won't say much else or you'll know the whole book! This is a really good book! Has mystery, romance, and an actual storyline to it.
Overall: Really liked it and will be reading book two when it comes out.
Cover: Like it! I really like how the girls hair is flying out and how we can only see half of her face.

A Cinderella Society by Kay Cassidy
Summary: When the Prom Queen becomes your fairy godmother…
Sixteen year old outsider, Jess Parker, gets the chance of a lifetime: an invitation to join a secret society of popular girls dedicated to defeating the mean girls of the world. The Cinderella Society guides all new recruits through its top secret ultimate life makeover. It’s all part of preparing them to face down the Wickeds and win. Determined not to let the Cindys down, Jess dives in with a passion. Finally, a chance to belong and show the world what she’s made of.
… be careful what you wish for.
Jess’s transformation wins her the heart of her dream crush and a shot at uber-popularity. Until the Wickeds–led by Jess’s arch enemy–begin targeting innocent girls in their war against the Cindys, and Jess discovers the real force behind her exclusive society. It’s a high stakes battle of good vs. evil, and the Cindys in power need Jess on special assignment. When the mission threatens to destroy her dream life come true, Jess is forced to choose between living a fairy tale and honoring the Sisterhood… and herself.
What’s a girl to do when the glass slipper fits, but she doesn’t want to wear it anymore?
My Thoughts: When I first saw this book, I knew I must read it! I mean, come on, my name is Cindy so therefore I have to be a Cindy, right? Not to mention the cover is pink and has a high heel on it. Love the color pink! We are introduced to Jess who is just your average teenage girl who just blends into the scene. She's not popular but she's not unpopular either. She gets picked on and most of the time she just wants the day to end so she can get away from the bullies. She has a crush on Ryan, the popular guy she doesn't think she has a chance in the world with. He barely notices her and when he does she is making a fool out of herself.
Out of nowhere Jess gets an invitation to join a secret society; The Cinderella Society. Jess discovers herself more everyday being a part of this society. It actually means something to her. She learns to believe in herself and stick up for herself.
The first few pages, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book. It seemed a little bit too girly for me and I wanted more romance. I wanted to get to know Ryan better. But once things got going I became engrossed in it and couldn't put it down. I really liked Jess and Ryan's relationship. They got to know each other slowly and I started to really like the attraction they shared. You also have to get used to the terms used such as Wickeds, Reggies, and Cindys.
Overall: Loved it by about page 50. The first few pages, you just have to get the lay of the land. It starts to flow nicely and you realize your already on page 200, hehe.
Cover: Love the cover most of all. Its gorgeous. Love the pinkness and the glass high heal!

But life is messy, and it's very hard to be in control of it. Not when there are freshman girls running around in a pack, trying to get senior guys to sleep with them. Not when your friends have secrets they're no longer comfortable sharing. Not when the boy you once dismissed ends up

Slut or saint? Winner or loser? Natalie is getting tired of these forced choices - and is now going to find a way to live life in the sometimes messy, sometimes wonderful in-between.

Spells
By Aprilynne Pike
Summary: Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever.
When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?
My Thoughts: First, I want to say I have heard a lot of good and bad reviews about this series. I have heard a lot of people say they wouldn't even attempt to read it. Sucks for them! I loved it! I read Wings in a day and started Spells the next day and read it in 2 sittings. I loved them both. I did like Spells a little more though. In Spells, we are once again introduced to Laurel, her family, her friend Chelsea, her boyfriend David, her other "friend" Tamani; who is a fairy! In Wings, Laurel slowly realized she was a fairy and by Spells, she has accepted this and is trying to cope with it and lead a normal life. Of course nothing can go as planned because she has Trolls hunting her down, wanting crucial information from her. I don't want to give away the whole plot but I loved this book. This book revolves more about Laurel going to Avalon and spending time getting to learn about her heritige (being a fairy). I truly adore this series.
I started off so torn between David and Tamani. I mean, come on, David seems like a sweetheart and the kind of guy who will always be there for you. Yes, that's comforting and hot but than there is Tamani who comes off as a hunky awesome guy. You know you shouldn't like him because Laurel is already with David. But you find yourself thinking, come on Tamani, get the girl! And on top of his greatness, he's a fairy! By the time the book ended, I was rooting for Tamani and wanted Laurel and Tamani together. There was so much tension between them I had to reread a few paragraphs just so I could savor it more than once. A big grin would cross my face. Sorry David but I'm more in love with Tamani. Its been a while since I've loved a guy in a book and I'm still awwing over Tamani. Can he please be real? Pretty please! I just loved these books! They are so good!
Overall: Loved it! I'm team Tamani! I actually liked Laurel too. The kissing scene between Laurel and Tamani- HOT! I just adored Tamani's personality. The chemistry between them was so awesome. I wish book 3 was already out! The cliffhanger on the last page of Spells makes you just sit there and say, what what what? What is going to happen next???
Cover: Its cute. I like the flowers.
Question: I guess Miley Cirus is going to play Laurel in the upcoming movie. I don't like/dislike her. Honestly, I'm more interested in whose going to play Tamani and David. What do you think? Who should be cast as them?
